Reward, Recognition and gifting work alongside a personal benefits hub, daily budgeting, savings and cashback in one app
Evans Vanodine International PLC has replaced paper gift vouchers with a single, card-based employee benefit from Aslan. Reward and recognition, employee gifting, digital vouchers, cashback and on-demand pay now work together in one app and one card.
Within four weeks of launch, 75% of eligible employees had registered for the app. The family-owned hygiene manufacturer based in Preston, Lancashire has been established for over 100 years. Around half of their workforce work in production, warehousing and other manual roles, and many have been with the business for 25 years or more.
With the cost of living still squeezing household budgets, the HR team wanted new ways to help employees’ pay go further. Previously, Evans Vanodine International thanked employees with vouchers handed out each quarter, which could only be spent at selected retailers and took time to order and distribute. From October, those quarterly gifts are paid as Roarward™ points, which land instantly in the Aslan app and can be spent anywhere worldwide using the Aslan Roarward card.
Kirsty Sanderson, HR Manager at Evans Vanodine International, said:
“Considering today’s economic climate, the financial wellbeing of our whole workforce was something we really wanted to prioritise. We wanted to move away from physical vouchers to offer our employees a more flexible, accessible and valuable solution.
“Aslan ticks all of these boxes, whilst also giving people the option to access a portion of their earned wages before payday should they need it. We felt it was important to give our employees greater choice and control over how they manage and benefit from their pay. It’s been fantastic to see such a strong uptake since the launch.”
James Gozney, CEO and Founder, Aslan, added:
“Evans Vanodine International wanted one solution that worked as well for a forklift driver as for someone at a desk. Recognition, gifting and financial wellbeing in the same app makes that possible, and is why three quarters of employees registered within four weeks.
“Because employees use the Aslan app and card for everyday spending, recognition and benefits information reach people in a way they recognise fitting in with their lives. We’re seeing more employers, especially in manufacturing and other deskless sectors move away from vouchers and separate portals towards a single app people use every week.”
