University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group[i] is recruiting its first Dedicated to Excellence and Culture Lead for an exciting new project that will shape the future cultural direction of the Group, which is also part of NHS England’s Culture and Leadership Programme[ii].

The Group is seeking someone who will lead and manage the programme and help University Hospitals of Northamptonshire better understand their culture using evidence-based tools and create tailored leadership strategies to ensure they have a compassionate, inclusive, and collective leadership and culture.

A key part of the role will be the recruitment, training, and management of up to 50 ‘Excellence Ambassadors’ from staff working across the hospital Group, who will help to drive the change and transformation programmes by discovering how staff experience the current culture and the steps required to become an inclusive place to work where people are empowered to make a difference.

The new role is based across both Kettering General Hospital and Northampton General Hospital and the successful candidate will work with the Group’s executive and hospital management teams to co-create a new behavioural framework that will bring their values to life for all the staff.

Kettering and Northampton General Hospitals became a new hospital Group in 2021 to improve patient access to services and drive up the quality of care by having a single vision and mission for both hospitals with shared values and priorities. The Group now employs over 10,000 staff and is one of the largest employers in the area.

Matt Asbrey, Head of Organisational Development and Inclusion at University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group said, “This is a highly important strategic role as we seek to imbed our values of compassion, accountability, respect, integrity and courage across our workforce. The new Excellence and Culture Lead, along with the 50 ambassadors will make a major contribution to getting the organisation to where it wants to be in 2025. We encourage people working in HR, organisational development, business or the NHS looking for their next career step to apply as this is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference to the working lives of our staff, and our patients.”

The salary for this role is £56,164 to £65,262 per annum. The closing date for applications is 23 November and interviews will be held on 13 December 2022. The Group encourages applications from people who identify from all protected groups, especially those from BAME, Disabled and LGBTQ+ backgrounds. To find out more and to apply, click here.
