Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing (HEBW) has announced changes to its senior leadership team to drive the expansion of its employee benefits business, both in the UK and globally.

Glenn Thomas, Global Practice Head of Employee Benefits, will focus on the continued growth and development of Howden’s global employee benefits offering, a move made possible by handing over the reins of the UK business to Cheryl Brennan.

Cheryl has been promoted to the role of Managing Director, HEBW UK from 1st October. Glenn will retain the role of Executive Chair for HEBW UK.

Cheryl will lead Howden’s UK employee benefits & wellbeing business and focus on taking it to its next phase of growth, supported by a team of highly experienced consultants.

One of these is Matthew Gregson, who has been promoted to the role of Executive Director, UK Corporate. Matthew, who joined Howden last year having previously been a member of the senior management team at Thomsons Online Benefits, will continue to support and grow the portfolio of corporate clients and enhance the range of services available to meet employers’ evolving benefit needs. This includes more digital solutions to support workplace wellbeing; flexible benefits and benefit communications; and pensions and financial wellbeing services.

To further support SME clients, Mark Fosh has been promoted to Director of SME. Mark and his team will focus on ensuring SMEs have the right benefits in place to meet their needs and to help smaller businesses to maximise their investment into benefits.

Richard Gould will continue to lead the consumer business, HEBW’s strategic relationships with Trade Associations and will work with leading insurers to develop specialist benefit solutions for smaller organisations.

Howden is widely recognised for its deep sector knowledge and specialisms. Having already successfully built a dedicated employee benefits offering for Asset Managers, Robbie Weston, Executive Director at Howden will also develop specialist benefit and wellbeing solutions for other key sectors, including the legal sector.

Globally, Howden’s employee business has expanded significantly in recent years and is now present in 27 countries. To continue this development, Howden recently appointed Mark Ramsook as Director of Global Employee Benefits Development for Europe and Latin America. Highly regarded in the Employee Benefits industry, Mark will develop Howden’s Employee Benefits and Wellbeing business across Europe and Latin America.

Glenn Thomas said ‘This marks an exciting chapter in the growth and development of Howden’s employee benefits capabilities. We have an expert team in place and this, combined with our continued investment in technology and market-leading propositions means we are perfectly placed to provide employers with a genuine alternative choice in the market. Our innovative approach and specialist team enables us to deliver the right benefit & wellbeing solutions to businesses and their employees, wherever they are in the world’’

Cheryl Brennan, Managing Director (UK) HEBW UK said, “Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing continues to prove itself as a trusted partner to solve the employee benefit and wellbeing needs of our clients, in the UK and globally.
