Vitality – in collaboration with Aon – has today announced that it has relaunched the UK’s largest employee wellbeing survey, Britain’s Healthiest Workplace.

Companies are invited to take part in the 2022 survey which will enable them to build a picture of the health and wellbeing of their employees, identify issues specific to their workforce, and be confident implementing effective strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees.

As employers adapt to a world in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, where hybrid working has become more common and employees manage pandemic-induced physical and mental health concerns, the insight generated by Britain’s Healthiest Workplace provides data and information on the health and wellbeing of a workforce. This insight enables them to implement meaningful and impactful wellbeing solutions.

This year’s survey has been adapted to recognise the new workplace environment where hybrid working is increasingly commonplace. The revamped survey now covers stress management, the impact of COVID-19 on a workforce, diversity and inclusion, and social and community, and the option for businesses to include modules on financial wellbeing and women’s and men’s health.

As in previous years, taking part in the survey is free and open to all businesses in the UK with 20 or more employees. Employers will be able to take part in the survey at any time in the year, enabling them to schedule their participation to align with their business calendar*, By taking part, employers will receive a personalised report that is specific to their business, including feedback from their employees. Using the results of targeted question-sets, the report will provide employers with insight into their employee’s lifestyle, physical and mental health, and an understanding of how the pandemic has impacted them. Businesses will also receive recommendations specific to their organisation to help them improve the physical and mental wellbeing of their workforce.

Lisa Patel, head of health UK, Aon, said: “Our data** shows that the vast majority of employers acknowledge that they have a responsibility for the health and wellbeing of their employees: 95 percent of employers either agree or strongly agree. However, 56 percent of employers don’t have a formalised health and wellbeing strategy.

“So, while the UK is seeing greater employer activity around wellbeing, a strategic approach is critical to create focus and achieve demonstrable results in building a more resilient workforce. Our new collaboration with Vitality helps employers gain invaluable insights from data, pinpointing the health and wellbeing issues unique to their employee demographics. This creates clarity and confidence to make better decisions, as well as the ability to build a proactive, preventative approach. Fundamentally, this also supports a business case that shows clear evidence of the need for action”.

*Only surveys completed by 30 September 2022 will be eligible for the 2022 awards.
